CROFOOT, JOHNSON, TJELLESVIK posted by Mary Swanson on Friday, July 3, 1998

I'm researching the family surname CROFOOT, specifically any descendants of John Crofoot who married Sophie (TJELLESVIK) JOHNSON. Tjellesvik was the family name in Norway, but Sophie and her family adopted the name Johnson when they came to America. John Crofoot homesteaded in Lincoln Co and was one of the first mail carriers in the Hendricks area. They had a large family, one of whom, Ben Crofoot was my grandfather.

ROSS posted by David J Webb on Friday, August 28, 1998

William and Sarah ROSS were on the 1880 census of Ash Lake, Lincoln County, MN (ED 137, sh5A). They had a large family: William, Jr (b. 1847 Ire.), George (1858 Can.), John (1862 Can.), Sarah (1865 Can.), William T. (1870 Can.), Matthew (1873). William and Sarah moved to Crow Wing County some time after 1880, but may have left some descendants in Lincoln County. I am looking for a plat map that would locate the Ross land records, and for family records for any of these ROSS descendants. Looking especially for any contemporary ROSS descendants willing to correspond on the ROSS family history.
